The Company:

Renewable Energy Systems Ltd (RES) is one of the world's broadest based wind energy companies, embracing wind farm development, construction, ownership, operation and maintenance. We wish to recruit an additional electrical engineer to be based in either our eco-friendly head office in Kings Langley or the Northern Ireland office in Larne.

The role:
Grid connections are a critical part of the development of wind farms. RES is looking to recruit an electrical engineer to provide support to the existing electrical section in all aspects of grid connection work for wind farms in the UK & Ireland market. There may subsequently be the opportunity for involvement in other RES markets.
Responsibilities will include:

• Establishing through discussion with DNO’s or through the use of subcontractors, the grid options available to a wind farm project during the development phase.
• Completion of connection applications and analysis of resulting offers; understanding the regulatory framework
• Negotiation on technical requirements during the design and construction phase
• Evaluate grid requirements in respect of the wind turbines and electrical system design
• Work with the DNO to provide regular reports on connection build progress to the RES construction project manager
• Coordinate grid code compliance activities and communication between the DNO and RES design teams
• General electrical support

The person:
The successful candidate will:

• have a degree in Electrical Engineering or other relevant subject;
• be able to demonstrate the ability to work to demanding timescales;
• manage workload on a number of projects simultaneously.   
• Have the flexibility to travel throughout the UK

Previous experience in the wind sector is desirable as is experience of SCADA and communication systems.
Knowledge of UK networks would be an advantage as would knowledge of Grid Codes. 
A current UK driving licence is required.
