RES is investigating the potential for commercial offshore wind farms in a number of European markets. Currently, RES is working on three sites off Lincolnshire, in collaboration with the projects' owner, Centrica Renewables.

RES are currently looking for a Project Engineer to join the Offshore team. The role will require the right candidate to be responsible for an Offshore substation work package, of the value of £30m. This work Package is currently being tendered for energisation in 2010.

You will work with other parts of the project team to ensure clarity and efficiency in the following areas of responsibility:

• Assist with the evaluation of tender bids
• Interface with design engineers and other interfacing contracts
• Review of design specifications, drawings, method statements and risk assessments.
• Assist with the management of the contract
• Factory witnessing of fabrication and acceptance testing

The Candidate

Candidates should ideally hold a relevant Degree qualification or equivalent in a relevant discipline, preferably in marine structural engineering or 132kV/33kV substation design and construction. Candidates should have proven ability in leading development projects and in depth knowledge of Environmental Impact Assessments. It is essential that the candidate be safety and efficiency orientated, with proven capability of making confident and reasoned decisions.  To maximise flexibility in this role it would also be advantageous, although not essential, that the candidate would be capable of offshore working. Overseas travel will be required.
