Wind farm developer RES Skandinavien AB in Östersund is selling a turn-key wind farm in Malå, Västerbotten county, to the utility company Jämtkraft, based in Jämtland county, Sweden.

"This is an important step in our work of developing wind farms in Sweden and Norway,"

said Mats Swensson managing director of RES Skandinavien.

“It will be a pleasure to hand over the key to a completely new wind farm..”

As a result of this deal, the Jämtland based utility company will increase its portfolio of wind farms.

“It is a part of our long term commitment to renewable energy,"

commented Jämtkraft managing director Henrik Grill.

The five wind turbines will be built on Hornberget in the municipality of Malå, Västerbotten county. Total installed capacity will be 10 MW and the wind farm will produce approximately 30 GWh per annum, which is the equivalent of household electricity for about 5000 houses. The wind farm will be completed during the winter of 2006/07.

A result of the construction plans is that RES Skandinavien has contributed to a broadband connection in the local area, something which is also required for the operation of the wind farm.

Upcoming projects for RES Skandinavien include 13 wind turbines in the municipality of Tysvaer, Rogaland county in Norway and 48 wind turbines in Alavattnet, municipality of Strömsund, Jämtland county.
