Construction

RES has constructed a substantial portfolio of wind farms - numbering 46 by the middle of 2007 - the majority as turnkey projects. This represents over 1500MW of installed capacity. A further nineteen projects, totaling over 1100 MW, are under construction and expected to become operational within the next 12 months.

Recent projects include wind farms in Texas, Sweden, Republic of Ireland, France and Scotland. The next construction challenge is the development of offshore wind farms around the coast of the UK. RES is currently involved in the Inner Dowsing, Lynn and Lincs offshore projects to be located off the east coast of England, near Skegness.

Our construction team builds projects on behalf of other developers as well as for RES. The turnkey approach ensures a cost-effective and efficient service with just one point of contact between the client and contractor. We have helped to establish industry standards by completing our wind farms on short construction timetables, on time and within budget. The construction of a wind farm typically takes between 6 and 12 months.
