Cotentin Wind Farm

Cotentin Wind Farm

The Cotentin wind farm is located near the village of Sortosville-en-Beaumont in the county of the Manche in Basse-Normandie.

It's the very first wind farm to be built in this county and benefits from a good 8 m/s wind speed.

The farm is comprised of 5 x 1.5 MW GE wind turbines, making a total installed capacity of 7.5 MW.

The production of electricity is estimated at 20 GWh/year. This is enough energy to supply the needs of 8,000 people and avoids sending 8,100 tonnes of CO2 per year into the atmosphere.
